In order to optimize engine-managing parameters, Tuners can choose between two different methods: one can work directly on the original ECU of the vehicle or use add-on modules which bypass its signal.
RACE is the most acknowledged professional ECU remapping system which allows customization of the engine-managing parameters of cars, commercial vehicles (LCV), heavy duty trucks and motorbikes.
It permits to access the engine-managing maps through simple graphics, 2D and 3D charts.
Improving the engine efficiency also reduces fuel consumption as the vehicle better reacts to all road conditions.
The optimization of the engine working is performed through simple and accurate information: RACE gives access only to the fundamental engine-managing maps whose values are always based on load and RPMs.
The ECU reading and programming operations are performed thanks to NEW GENIUS (Dimsport’s touch-screen console allowing serial operations through the OBDII/diagnostic port) and TRASDATA (BDM tool connected to a specifi c area of the ECU board by a metal positioning frame with pointers).

These map lists are useful interfaces (called setting files) created by Dimsport Technology’s engineers, who constantly develop and support
new solutions for the latest vehicle models.

By improving the engine efficiency, the vehicle can reduce fuel consumption as it reacts better to all road conditions. Turbocharged engines (both turbo diesel and gasoline) can gain up to 25-30% power and torque. Furthermore (especially for turbo diesel vehicles), the torque-curve increase consequently reduces fuel consumption up to 10%, thanks to the higher torque available at lower RPM.

The ECU reading and programming operations are performed thanks to NewGENIUS and TRASDATA.
NewGENIUS, our highly-technological stand-alone console, allows the tuner to read and program the stock ECU of the vehicle through the diagnostic socket (typically EOBD-II) by simply touching the colour screen and selecting the different functions to read/write the ECU. K/L-line and CAN-bus as well as J1850 communication is supported, while all read files can also be saved on a removable SD memory. Should the communication be interrupted for any reason (for instance, because of the unplug of the connector), this tool also gives the possibility to recover the programming procedure as well as useful extra features as the one for the turning-off of lights due to diagnosis, or the reading/writing of the injector settings.

The procedure through OBD/diagnostic socket is fast and easy and does not require any physical working on the ECU while covering most vehicles.
The constant R&D commitment of the company indeed grants the possibility to work also on the latest technology while counting on regular updates tested by Dimsport technical staff. Dimsport Technology supplies its programming console together with the standard EOBD-II wire, but also offers dedicated diagnostic wires for a direct connection to the ECU, both for cars/LCV and for trucks.
NewGENIUS is available also to support tuner’s networks (master/slave system) for both cars and trucks.

Starting from 2009, a new console for end-users called MyGENIUS (natural evolution of the tuners’ version) has been released to allow independent serial reading and programming operations.
Most ECUs can also be read and written in BDM mode thanks to our special-purpose tool: TRASDATA. This BDM mode allows the copy of the full flash Eprom and serial Eeprom (with several codes of the vehicle) content as well as the microprocessor one. This means that the ECU can always be restored as original, even in case of lockout (the original content is supposed to have been previously saved, of course). All connections can also be carried out with no need of soldering/de-soldering: a metal positioning frame with pointers, specifically conceived for this purpose, allows our BDM tool to link to a specific area of the ECU board.
